Nice list,...Just got here from your link from here. Nice list, but I was surprised not to see one troll tactic that I think should be pretty high on the list: the Change Of Topic.

Change Of Topic is most often used to allow the troll to weasel out of an argument they're about to lose. Of course, it also nicely derails the thread from its original topic. Some trolls also have a favorite subject they'll try to change to, whether it's related or not. Another favorite is to change the topic to a meta-argument (arguing about the (style of) arguing).

Change Of Topic can also be applied many times in rapid succession, like a rapid-fire of new falsehoods and bad arguments to be refuted. This makes the troll look like he's always ahead on the discussion, while honest commenters are tangled up in trying to refute all the lies and fallacies.

Related troll tactic: re-hashing past arguments.

Personally, I think Change Of Topic is one of the most tell-tale signs of trolling, and I find it highly annoying.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20132735.post-71784949577548760582008-10-05T04:17:00.000-04:002008-10-05T04:17:00.000-04:00One of the common features of the right wing troll...One of the common features of the right wing troll is to claim to be the perfect communicator, and to pick you up on minor typos, read as grammatical mistakes, which he claims indicate that you should not be in the position you are in.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15364161667997825733noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20132735.post-14370071289582411352008-10-04T23:45:00.000-04:002008-10-04T23:45:00.000-04:00"Picture the Constitutional Peasant from Holy Grai..."Picture the Constitutional Peasant from Holy Grail shouting, "Help!
